A few Lake pictures...

The wet get wetter

Makin' a big splash (backwards down the slide)

Emma went down the slide on her own this year. And LOVED it!

It's all about the pose...

Who is this?!?! There is NO WAY this could possibly by my son, he looks so old.

I think this may be the only shot I got of all four kids together.

All the "younger" cousins playing "King of the Tube" with a little splash from Cousin Joe on the wave runner.

Jackson found he loves to drive. LOOK OUT WORLD!!
(He will be 13 in just a few days, so we are all too rapidly approaching the driving stage with him.)

The 3 stooges jumping off the boat. (However, on this jump, someone didn't actually jump...)

The best view of the lake, from the top of a double decker pontoon...

Lake Cumberland is such a beautiful lake with amazing shorelines.

The road in and out of the state park is long, but filled with so much beauty.

Still here...

Yes, we are still here. Life has taken a different turn for us this summer. No longer is summer break a full break from school. We now have a Varsity Soccer and JV/Varsity Basketball player and so summer is full of conditioning and open field/gym playing. So in light of that our schedules didn't seem to slow down much this summer.
And here we are at the end of the first week of preseason soccer for all three boys. So far they have survived conditioning with just minor muscle pains. This is thanks to summer conditioning they all did over the past month or so. Next week there will be some scrimmages as well as another week of prep work for the season. This year I am not coachign soccer, so I get the pleasure and priviledge to simply be a soccer mom.
School starts on the 25th of August, and we will have a child in each area of the school (except the preschool-PTL!). Alex will be in High School as a Freshman, Jackson will be in Middle School as a 7th grader, Stephen will be in the Intermediate School as a 5th grader (which also makes him eligible to play middle school sports this year) and Emma will be in Elementary as a 2nd grader.

While summer was busy we did manage a few trips. We took a few days to travel to Indiana to celebrate the 40th anniversary of my parents. The kids did spend their two weeks with grandparents in Indiana. And then we took a family vacation to Lake Cumberland in KY. Both trips were filled with so much fun, providing many great memories.
I am in the process of taking 100's of photos off of camera, so I will try to post a few soon.

This time of year becomes so full with back to school events and sports and work, etc... I am working hard to take time at the end of each day to reflect on the moments I saw God at work. I was reminded yesterday as I looked at the passage in 1 Kings 19, that God often appears to us in the gentle whispers of our day. Am I listening for those moments or am I so busy I often miss it? What about you?
